# Vexi media kit: brand

## The mark

The mark is the owner's own V: two blades that meet at one point, with a hairline of ground between them. The left
blade is the body colour; the right blade is gold. It is traced from his drawing and is never redrawn, straightened or
re-proportioned.

### Two colourways

| Colourway | Use on | Left blade | Right blade | File |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Dark | night `#0A0A0A` and other dark grounds | paper `#EFEEEA` | gold `#D9BE86` | `logo/vexi-mark-dark.svg` |
| Paper | paper, white and other light grounds | charcoal `#3D3D40` | deep gold `#A8823C` | `logo/vexi-mark-paper.svg` |

- Never swap them, and never put the dark colourway's paper blade on a light ground.
- If a ground is neither clearly dark nor clearly light, place the mark on a flat night or paper panel.
- The X profile is dark: the dark colourway on night.

### Size

- The SVGs are cut tight to the mark (92 × 82 units). The PNGs in `logo/png/` are square, the mark centred in its
100-unit box, so they drop into any square slot.
- Minimum height on screen: 16 px. Below 24 px the hairline between the blades may close; that is fine.
- The favicon is the mark itself. `logo/favicon.svg` switches colourway with the viewer's light or dark setting.
- In a round avatar (as on X) the mark's box is 58 % of the width, centred.

### Clear space

- Keep a quarter of the mark's height clear on every side.
- Nothing enters that space: no type, no other logo, no edge of the picture.

### Grounds

- Yes: flat night `#0A0A0A`, flat paper `#EFEEEA`, white, and flat dark or light neutrals.
- A photograph only where the area behind the mark and its clear space is calm and even.
- Never on a busy photograph, a pattern, or a gradient that crosses the mark.
- Never on coin orange, cash lime, pale gold or a partner's brand colour.

### Never

- **Recolour it.** Two colours only, the blade and the gold, as in the two files. No all-gold, no one-colour version,
no orange, lime or partner colours, and never green in the mark.
- **Rotate, tilt or flip it.**
- **Outline it** or draw it as a stroke.
- **Stretch, squash or re-proportion it.** Scale it only with its proportions locked.
- **Slice it or take it apart:** the two blades stay together, with their hairline.
- **Add effects:** no shadow, glow, gradient, bevel, texture or 3D.
- **Put it on a busy photograph.**
- **Put anything inside it** or in its clear space.

There is no one-colour version. If a surface can print only one colour, write to eric.fang@vexi-protocol.ai.

## The lockup

The lockup is the mark followed by the wordmark **VEXI**. It is the only place the name appears in capitals. In a
sentence the name is "Vexi".

Measured in mark heights (M, the blades' height):

| Part | Setting |
| --- | --- |
| Order | The mark, then VEXI, on one line. One version only: there is no stacked lockup. |
| VEXI | Inter, weight 500, capitals, letter-spacing 0.2em |
| VEXI cap height | 0.5 M. Inter's cap height is 0.727 of the font size, so the font size is about 0.69 M. |
| Gap, mark to V | 0.3 M |
| Alignment | VEXI is centred vertically on the mark. |
| Colour | VEXI takes the left blade's colour: `#EFEEEA` on dark, `#3D3D40` on paper. VEXI is never gold. |
| Clear space | 0.25 M on every side of the whole lockup |
| Minimum | Mark 16 px tall. Smaller than that, use the mark alone. |

Example: at 1440 px wide, the site's navigation sets the mark at 26 px tall; the footer at 40 px.

Files: `logo/vexi-lockup-paper.svg` and `logo/vexi-lockup-dark.svg`, with the type already outlined. Do not retype VEXI
in another font, and do not use VEXI without the mark as a logo. The kit has no VEXI-only file, on purpose.

## Colour

The brand is night first: the site, the X profile and the films stand on night, with paper type and one gold.

| Name | Hex | Role |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Night | `#0A0A0A` | The ground of the site, the X profile and dark pictures |
| Paper | `#EFEEEA` | Type on night; the ground of light pictures |
| Grey | `#9A9A94` | Support lines on night (7:1) |
| Ink | `#161615`, support `#62615C` | Type on paper |
| Gold | `#D9BE86` on night, `#A8823C` on paper | The mark's right blade; the ring of light; the user's own money in pictures |
| Coin | `#DC5A0A`; as type on night `#F29A52` | The coin in every drawing of liquidity: the pot's coin, a call's collateral |
| Cash | `#CCFF00` | Cash in every drawing of liquidity: the pot's cash, a put's collateral. Also the one button colour. Never on a light ground (1.0:1 on paper). |
| Pale gold | `#E8D29C` face, `#D9BE86` edge, `#F6E6BC` highlight | Lit coins and balls: the user's own money |

### Colour rules

- Coin and cash mean the two tokens, and nothing else. Never use them for decoration, profit or loss. (Cash lime is
also the button: one accent, used for one action at a time.)
- Colour sits in the marks and objects, never as a field.
- No profit or loss colours on brand surfaces. A sign and a word carry them.
- Gold means the mark, the ring of light, and the user's money in pictures. It is not a colour for running type.
- Retired, never use: the old coin pink `#FF00B4`, `#FF3E9E`, `#AA277C`; the old cash green `#10A263`, `#139948`;
  the old near-black `#0F0F0E`; the old mark greys `#D8D8D4`, `#4A4A47`; and `#FF007A`, `#37D67A`, `#E20074`, which
  belong to other brands.

## Typography

- **Inter for everything new:** headlines, body, captions, labels and numbers. It is free under the SIL Open Font
  License.
- **Weights:** 400 for running text, 500 for labels and the wordmark.
- **Headlines:** eight words or fewer.
- **Labels:** capitals, weight 500, letter-spacing 0.08em. Never under 11 px on a phone.
- **Numbers** in tables and prices use tabular figures (Inter's `tnum`).
- **The wordmark** is set only in the lockup (see above). The files carry it outlined.
- **Older Vexi pages** set headlines in a serif. Do not copy it into new work.

### Captions on video

Sizes are for a frame whose short side is 1080 px (1080 × 1920 or 1920 × 1080). Scale them with the short side.

- Inter, in ink on paper or in paper on night. Never in coin, cash or gold.
- Captions 56 px or larger. No text of any kind under 40 px.
- At most 2 lines, at most 7 words a line.
- Hold each card at least 0.3 s per word, and never less than 0.7 s.
- Changing the frame from 16:9 to 9:16 or 4:5 never shrinks the type to fit.
- Every Vexi film ships with an English `.srt` caption file.

## Pictures

- **Words carry the claim.** A picture shows the mechanism. Any claim in a frame is printed in words.
- **Liquidity in its colours:** the coin in coin orange, cash in cash lime. **The user's money in pale gold.**
- **The pool is a pool.** Draw it and label it as a pool (the chart is titled "Spot"). No venue's name or logo in a
  picture or a label.
- **Draw it literally:** a range chart, strike bars on one price axis, a locked box behind a sold option. No pills,
capsules or glowing orbs. Where a picture says the pot quotes the board, show size (bar length), not price.
- **No disclaimers, footnotes or "Illustrative" labels inside a picture, a film or a slide.** The footer line goes only
in the website's page footer; everywhere else "testnet" is said in the post text, or in a film by the voice-over.
- **Never in a picture:** an APR or yield, a fee rate, a leverage multiple, TVL, volume, a vault's size. Crop them out
  of app screenshots.
- NVDA, MU and TSLA do not appear in a hero picture, a header or a lead film.

## Co-branding: partner posts

- **In text:** "Vexi × [Partner]", with a multiplication sign and spaces. On the partner's own channel their name may
  come first.
- **Side by side:** the two logos sit on one line at equal optical height. Match how large they look, not their
bounding boxes. Use the Vexi lockup, or the Vexi mark alone when the partner shows a symbol alone.
- **A thin divider between them:** a vertical rule in Ink 3, 1 px at 1080 px wide, as tall as the Vexi mark. Each
logo keeps its own clear space from the rule.
- **Never merged:** no shared outline or shape, no overlap, no logo inside the other, no combined symbol, no
recolouring either logo to match the other. Each logo keeps its own colours and its own version for the ground.
- **Approval first:** use a partner's logo only with that partner's approval, only in the files they supplied, and
only in the post they approved. Do not imply more than they approved.
- A Vexi-only picture shows no partner name or logo.
- The copy rules still hold: say "testnet", and use nothing from "Lines never to use" in `copy.md`.

Films and market cards come back when they are redone in the V mark. When they do: post a film whole; do not cut it,
re-caption it, or add text, music or a disclaimer on top; put "testnet" in the post text.
